What classes are suitable for Beginners?

Yoga

Slow Flow on Sundays at 10.15am

Yin Yoga is a very slow restorative practice so it’s suitable for levels and happens every 2 weeks on Fridays at 7.30pm.

Depending on how active you are, you might be fine to attend some of the open level Vinyasa classes as the teacher will offer variations throughout depending on whether you want to challenge yourself or takes things slower

Mat Pilates

We have a Beginners Pilates class on Tuesdays 7:10pm and Sundays at 9am.

Reformer Pilates

Our Level 1 Reformer Pilates Flow classes are for beginners. If you’re completely new to Reformer Pilates we ask that you attend at least five of these classes before moving onto any other classes.

In addition to these classes we have a FREE 30 minute Beginners Reformer Pilates taster session Friday at 2:15pm at Leyton High road and Tuesdays 5:45pm at South Woodford.

We also have monthly 4 week Beginner Reformer Pilates courses that can be booked via the website or the app. You can view upcoming dates here.

Can I cancel a class last minute?

We operate a strict 12 hour cancellation policy for our studio classes. This means that if you cancel up to 12 hours prior to the class start time, your class credit will go back on your account with us and you can use it for another class in the future.

If you cancel within less than 12 hours of the class start time, you will incur a late cancellation penalty. If you are unable to attend a class in the studio, please cancel no matter how late, as you may also incur a no-show penalty. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before class. If you’re running late, you may not be admitted to the class, this is for yours and your peers' safety and enjoyment. If you’re more than five minutes late, we may offer your space to someone who has dropped into the studio, so please call the studio if you are running late.

Workshops and Courses are non refundable and non-transferable.

Do you have any concession rate classes?

We have some classes which are priced at a concession rate. These are Postnatal Yoga with baby. These are £10 per session or £8 if you buy a block of 10 classes.

What do I need to bring for a class?

No, we have all the equipment you’ll need. You can of course bring your own mat if you prefer though.

What facilities do you have at Pause?

We have changing rooms, lockers, baby changing facilities and secure bicycle stands outside.

The studio is wheelchair accessible including our wc. There is a step up to the front door but we have a ramp.

We do not have shower facilities at our studio.

Do you do any free classes?

We have 2 free classes each week!

What classes can I book with your intro offer?

You can book all of our weekly group classes with our intro offer within a one month period.

• How long do I have to commit for? Each contract has a 4 month minimum commitment

• Can I upgrade my membership during my contract period? Yes, absolutely! If you would like to downgrade or cancel your membership we require one month's notice before the end of your current contract.

• How do I cancel my contract? We require a minimum one month's notice for any cancellation requests. Just send us an email, and your contract will be cancelled at the end of its contract period.

• Can I put a hold on my monthly recurring membership? Yes! We can put a hold on your monthly membership for up to two weeks. You can request a hold on your membership a maximum of two times in a year’s period (begins from first month’s start date).

• What happens after the 4 months has finished? Your contract will just auto-renew unless you have asked us to cancel it or change it.

• Can I use my rewards to buy the membership? Yes you can! Whenever you receive a reward, and email including a code is sent to you which can be applied at checkout.

• What happens if I don't use my credits each month? The credits just reset and do not rollover each month, so make sure you use them!

• Can I share my credits with a friend? Credits can only be used by the person who has purchased the membership

• Are there any special perks if I buy the membership? Yes! You get 10% off workshops/events at Pause

What are your Off-peak classes?

Our off peak classes are:

• Postnatal Yoga with Baby Mondays 10:15am, Tuesdays 10:30am and Wednesdays 11am

• Saturday and Sunday evening L1/L2 Reformer Pilates

Everything else would be considered peak classes.

This is our cheapest reformer option, and a great option for those seeking flexibility with their schedules (and wallets!).

Off-peak reformer classes are charged with a £10 drop-in fee, and is excluded from class packs/memberships/intro offers.

Do you have parking on site?

A lot of the streets are permit holders only during the hours of 8.30am - 6.30pm Monday - Friday.

However, there is free parking for up to an hour on Crawley Road and two hours on Claude Road which are both nearby. There is also on-street paid parking via Pay by Phone nearby.

If you're pregnant and considering joining one of our regular (non-prenatal) classes, please read the following carefully:

Your safety and wellbeing are our top priority. While some of our standard classes may still be suitable during pregnancy, it's essential that you're supported by a prenatal trained teacher who can offer appropriate modifications.

If you are planning to attend Barre, Mat Pilates, or Reformer Pilates Level 1 or 2, you must contact the studio before attending, so we can guide you to a class with a prenatal-trained instructor.
Please note: if you arrive without notifying us in advance, the teacher may not be able to safely accommodate you and you may be turned away.

Yoga

• If you had a regular yoga practice before becoming pregnant, you can usually continue with modifications.

• Most of our yoga teachers are pre- and postnatal trained, but please let your teacher know you are pregnant before class begins.

• If you are new to yoga, please book into our Pregnancy Yoga classes instead.

Barre & Mat Pilates

• If you regularly practised Barre or Mat Pilates before pregnancy, you may be able to continue with modifications, depending on your stage of pregnancy.

• These classes are core-focused, which may make them unsuitable without adjustments.
  You must contact the studio before attending, so we can place you with a prenatal-trained instructor.

Reformer Pilates (Level 1 & 2)

• If you did Reformer Pilates before pregnancy and are under 20 weeks, you may be able to attend Level 1 or 2 classes with the right modifications.

• Reformer includes core-focused work and time lying on your back, so guidance from a prenatal-trained teacher is essential.
  You must contact the studio before attending, so we can advise on class suitability and ensure you’re booked with the right instructor.

•  Level 3 Reformer Flow and Power Reformer classes are not suitable at any stage of pregnancy.

What is your Rewards System?

Rewards are accumulated through your interactions with Pause. The more you attend classes, the bigger discount you’ll unlock!

How they’re earned:

• 50 visits 5% off

• 100 visits 10% off

• 150 visits 15% 

• 200 visits 20%

• Refer a friend who makes a purchase = a free class

PLEASE NOTE: If you have a monthly membership, discounts can only be applied to one month’s payment. You can do this through your account. Or, you can get in touch and we can apply this for you.

Why do I have to wear socks in reformer classes?

For hygiene reasons, socks are compulsory in Reformer Pilates. If you have gripper socks then these are ideal, but if you don’t own a pair, we sell them at the studio for £8 or we have gripper pads which you can place under your feet if needed.

Do you do any discounts?

We do, yes!

We offer a 10% discount for students and NHS workers, provided you can produce a valid photo student ID or NHS employee card upon purchase.

10% applies to class packs, monthly memberships, events and courses. Excludes gift cards, private sessions and bolt-ons. 

Not applicable on Off-Peak, the 3 for 49 intro offer, Bolt-Ons, Gift Cards, Private Sessions, Socks, Towel Hire or Postnatal Yoga w/ Baby Class packs.

I have booked on the waitlist for a class. What does that mean?

When you book yourself onto the waitlist for a class, you are essentially in a queue for an available spot on the attendance list.

If a spot becomes available for you, you are automatically bumped up onto the attendance list. Our waitlist is automated up until an hour before the class start time.

After the cut-off (within 1 hour of class):

The system stops automatic bookings at this point.

If a space opens up, everyone still on the waitlist will receive a real-time SMS.

The first person to reply and accept the spot via SMS will be booked into the class.

You’ll receive an email confirmation if you get in.

Make sure to remove yourself from the waitlist if you can no longer make a class, as standard T&Cs apply if you get bumped into the class.

If you don’t get added to the class, the credit you used to join the waitlist will go back onto your account so you can use it for a future class.

Do you have women only classes?

Yes! We have Women’s Only REFORMER classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Our text message (SMS) alerts are STRICTLY for notifying you that there is space in the class from a waitlist or if there has been a last minute change of schedule to your registered class. It is the fastest way for us to share with you this news!

So make sure you have your number attached to your profile and you are signed up to receive these alerts.

We will NEVER use SMS to communicate any marketing material.
